Caledonian Railway original gold leaf coat of arms transfer mounted in the centre of a blue panel with "CR" on either side 48"x18". Good condition. On the back is an official letter "LM & S Ry. Glasgow. This panel was made at St Rollox Works for display during the celebration of the opening of the first section of line. It hung behind the chairman's seat at the centenary luncheon, in the Central Hotel Glasgow on 10th September 1947 and was then displayed at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery from 13th-29th September. It was then given by the LMS to Major J.A. and Mr C Burns of Cumbernauld, Glasgow on 30th September 1947".
