This is an extraordinary authentic pre-historic notched Cahokia point with a nice high grade of G10+ and book value of $2,400. The ancient point is expertly constructed from a fine and very rare Kaolin Flint material with outstanding color of brown/reds with a semi-transparent gradient and is in very well-preserved excellent museum quality condition. The point shows an outstanding Cahokia Alibates shape and is in a triple notch form with serrated edge. The point has a collection museum tag that reads, “220-A10 Carrizozo 3” Cahokia Alibates Flint Point from Cahokia Site in Ill. Book Value (9th Edition pg. 701) $2,400.00 D-275” and “3 INCH CAHOKIA G10+ Value $2,400 Cahokia Site IL D-275 220-A10”. This is truly a rare authentic Cahokia Mound point with outstanding condition and color ranging from brown / red and yellow to a clear in an outstanding rare Kaolin Flint material. This 1,100-500 B.P. artifact is from the Illinois Cahokia Mound Pre-Columbian Mississippian Native American Indians and is in exceptionally fine point showing wonderful detail and an nice size. Provenance: From a multi-generation artifact collection spanning 80-100 years from Las Cruzes, New Mexico. The point is in excellent condition and measures 3”L by 1”W. Riker case is 3.5”x4.5” and 1” thick. The point is hand painted on the front with a museum collection number of IL / 1990.
