"Cadma" Standing Lamp ("Suora" lamp), design Carlo Mollino, 1947, made by Edizioni Galleria Colombari, Milano, ca. 1995, marble plinth, tubular brass w/ brass joints, curved brass-wire shade w/ parchment cover, max. height: 300 cm, shade width: 115 cm. In 1947, Carlo Mollino designed a series of exceptional furniture items for the Cadme Company, incl. not just this lamp but a tea-trolley, a marble table, and a free-standing terracotta oven. The so-called "Cadma" or "Suora" lamp represents a development of his virtuoso design for a lamp for the apartment at Casa Franca and Gugliemo Minola in Turin. None of the originals have been preserved. However, the re-edition by the Colombari Gallery in Milan - part of their "Hommage to Carlo Mollino" collection - is based on contemporary photographs and drawings from the Mollino Archive.
