<B>Cabinet Card - Studio portrait of Curley, the famous Crow Indian scout who served with Custer's 7th cavalry</B></I><BR>Circa 1885<BR>Length 6 1/2 in. Width 4 1/4 in.<BR><BR>Curley joined his fellow Crow warriors White Swan, Goes Ahead, White Man Runs Him, Hairy Moccasin, and No Milk as a scout for the Seventh Cavalry on the Little Bighorn expedition. The Crow scouts were not required to engage the enemy and all survived. Curley witnessed parts of the Battle of the Little Bighorn and his translated account appeared in newspapers, leading to the belief that he was the only surviving witness under Custer's immediate command.
