Featured in this lot is this Southern Plains fighting knife circa 20th century. The fighting knife features a wonderfully and professionally crafted Indian tanned hide, harness leather and trade bead construction with a heavy clip point fighting knife with a antler handle and a bronze hilt. The sheath shows tassels with brass, white, black and maroon trade beads with black and white trade seed beads sewn on the seam. The condition of this Southern Plains fighting knife is well preserved with some oxidation or patina to the blade and the tang shows a little wiggle but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this knife in sheath is 16 1/2" x 3 1/2". The collective weight of this knife is 1lb 10oz. Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
