Featured in this lot is this Plains Indians beaded pipe and pipe stem circa 20th century. The pipe pair features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wood, leather, trade seed bead, and catlinite construction. The pipe features a strait stem with trade seed bead strung on it with coloration of chalk white, orange, and medium red with a catlinite pipe bowl that is simple in design. The pipe stem features a strait design with flared sides and a geometric decoration to the center of the stem with trade seed beads that show coloration of translucent red, chalk white, sky blue, salmon, and translucent greasy yellow. The condition of this pair of Plains Indians pipe and pipe stem is well preserved with only some wear to the leather wrapping of the pipe but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of these pipes and pipe stems is 1 1/4" x 12 5/8" x 7/8" for the pipe and for the pipe stem measures 19 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3/8". The collective weight of this pipe and pipe stem is 4oz.
