Featured in this lot is this Plains Indians beaded sheath and HB marked dag knife. The sheath and dag knife feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted Indian tanned hide, trade seed bead, and forged steel with wooden handle construction. The sheath features a Indian tanned hide pocket decorated with trade seed beads that shows coloration of medium green, medium blue, mediumj red, greasy yellow, and sky blue coloration that shows jingle cone tassels on the top and on the bottom of the sheath. The dag knife features a forged blade with central ridge on both sides of the knife with a full tang and a polished wooden handle that is inlaid with silver and brass placements and is marked 'H.B." The condition of this Plains Indians sheath and dag knife is good with no obvious signs of damage to the sheath or the blade but otherwise shows a good overall condition. The overall measurements of this sheath and knife is 19 3/4" x 3 7/8".
Provenance: From a prominent ex-Bozeman private collection who purchased the majority of his collection from Cowan's, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy's, Sotheby's, March in Montana, North American Auction and other well revered auction houses.
