The lot features a circa 1930-1950's Northern Cheyenne beaded hide sheath and old trade knife from a private ex-museum collection out of Eastern Montana. The sheath exhibits Indian tanned hide over thick tanned leather and is covered on the front with typical Northern Cheyenne geometric beadwork. Thread sewn beadwork. The beads are all early 1900 examples including Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow, cobalt, greasy blue, red white hearts, and semi-transparent green. The trade knife is a common turn of the century 1890-1920's skinning knife with dark blade, walnut handles with brass rivets. Provenance: From a private ex-museum collection out of Eastern Montana. Measures overall 11.75-inches long by 3.5-inches wide. Knife by itself is 10 5/8-inches long. Good condition, soft hide, little to no bead loss.
