This is an original circa 1907 Colt Single Action Army Model 1873 first model revolver which is chambered in .45 caliber with original antique bone / tusk carved grips with long horn steer carving. The revolver has been paired with a later John Wayne Commemorative SAA box case and the barrel and sites appear to be later additions as well. The revolver was manufactured by Colt in 1907. The piece displays a 4 5/8" long barrel, six-shot cylinder, bone grips, under barrel hand ejector, and blue'd finish. The bone grips features an embossed depiction of a longhorn steer over a five pointed star. The barrel is marked across the side "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" with the top reading "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". The side of the frame is marked with "PAT SEPT. 19. 1871 JULY. 3. 72. JAN. 19. 75.". The frame, trigger guard, and grip display matching serial numbers. The revolver comes with a Colt John Wayne Commemorative lock box with oak construction and red leather interior. The revolver shows good condition with some light action wear on the cylinder and the box showing good condition. The revolver and box weighs 8lbs 12oz. The box measures 9 1/4" wide by 17 1/4" long and 4 1/4" tall. Serial Number: 288084. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
