Ca. 1903 Last Stagecoach Tombstone Panoramic Photo
For your consideration is this large and rare, panoramic photo of the old Modoc Stage on its last trip to Tombstone, Arizona, visited by the Postmaster of Tombstone in 1903. The original photo was taken around March 27, 1903 when the El Paso & Southwestern R.R. Co. passenger train finally arrived in Tombstone. In the background, you can see the old fire station and in the right hand side, the train station and a train can be seen. A group of people surround the stage coach, getting a last glimpse of it before its final adventure. It shows good condition overall with wear present to the paper backing the photo is set on such as some water staining, but no major signs of damage is noted to the photograph itself. The frame is an original early 1900 oak wood, a truly beautiful example with wear as well. The visible photo measures 7" L x 24" W, while the entire piece measures 20 1/2" L x 37 5/8" W x 1" D. It weighs 10 pounds and 2 ounces. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. P81
