The lot features a beaded Indian hide ration card pouch from the Lakota Sioux of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation dating to the early 1900's. The bag exhibits thick Indian tanned hide panels which are sinew and thread sewn. The front and back are adorned with glass trade seed beadwork. The front showing a fully beaded area with classic Lakota geometric pattern with white background. The back shows a dragonfly or three bar cross in chalk white and cobalt. The outside edge of the back is fancy beaded as well as the bottom fringes. The bag would have held a rations card or document, possibly a mirror. Well kept. Measures overall 6.5"L by 4"W without fringes.
