This is an outstanding intricately beaded large belt from the Chippewa Indians dating to the early 1900s. The belt shows amazing beadwork with outstanding detail done on thick trade canvas with trade calico cloth backing and covered in early 1900 glass trade seed and petit beadwork. The belt shows a rectangular buckle with silver coloring. The beadwork shows a greasy orange with greasy light blue, semi-transparent red, light green, semi-transparent green, greasy blue, black, and faceted metal and brass beads. The beadwork is well kept with little to no loss and displays beautifully. This piece is from the Robert Dickens collection. Overall it measures 37.5"L end to end by 1 5/8"W. Buckle is 2.25" by 1.75".*
