C. Tielsch antique cake or luncheon service set transfer painted with large in-bloom and full bud tinged white formal roses on a color tinted ground of deep to pale golden hues. Small rich fuchsia-red rose-buds and green leaves add punch to the overall canvas. Shadow greenery offset the one side of the pattern. All pieces trimmed in a buffed gold paint (or leaf).
Cake plate with two pierced open tab gilt handles measures 10 inches by 9.5 inches with a soft ovoid shape and is rated to be in near excellent condition with 98% of gold intact. Shows extremely minimal rub wear.
The four dessert or luncheon plates measure 7.25 in diameter and are rated to be in very good condition with only rub wear to the gold rims evident. The gold wear is extensive in spots with an overall 85% of the gold rims on the four plates intact. We have priced accordingly for this expected and easy-fix flaw.
The matching sugar and creamer shown in the main photo are being listed separately in this auction.
Estate acquisition and well cared for. Eagle and Scepter inkmark was used between 1875 - 1934.
