<B>Circa 1890s Whipple Dollar, HK-832, MS60 Uncertified.</B></I> Gilt bronze, 38.1 mm. This peculiar issue was made for O.M. Whipple & Company, a whip manufacturer in Westfield, Massachusetts. The design, a one-sided shell, closely resembles the reverse of a Morgan dollar. The exact purpose of this issue is unknown, and no examples to date have been recovered in a completed form, indicating that perhaps the Whipple dollar was never released into circulation as a store card.
