This is a truly stunning and detailed circa 1880-1890 Transitional Period diamond blanket / serape from a Navajo artisan; ex-prominent Bozeman private collections from ex-Bonhams Auction. The textile is finely woven with outstanding banded geometrid diamond patterns showing a red field with serrated diamond pattern in colors of black, orange, off-white / cream and light brown / tan. The rug is well woven showing various lazy lines and tassels at each corner. This is truly a classic and fine example of a Navajo Transitional Rug or Blanket and has stunning color with fine weaving. Provenance: From a prominent Bozeman, Montana private collection, formerly sold at auction for $4,800. The collection this is out of purchased from only high-end auctions such as Cowan’s, Skinner, Bonhams, Morphy’s Sotheby’s, March in Montana and North American Auction. This is a well preserved rug with normal wear and a stunning pattern. The measurements of this rug is 68 1/2" x 50 1/2".
