This is a beautiful cut glass water goblet in the Ashburton pattern. This pattern was produced in cut form and also in pressed form during the same period from the 1840's to the 1890's. Sometimes the same manufacturer made both. More well known makers of this pattern are New England Glass Co; Bakewell, Pears and Company; Boston and Sandwich and McKee Brothers, come to mind. This full flint glass goblet is 6" tall and 3-1/4" in diameter at the rim. The stuck on foot is 3-5/8" in diameter with a ground and polished pontil mark. There is also a bubble between the foot and the cut stem. This goblet weighs 1 lb. 2 oz. There may be some small bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
