US Air Force officer whose expertise in strategic bombardment techniques was important during World War II and afterward. Later became SAC commander and then Air Force chief of staff. Brief TLS, 1p, 4to, Newport Beach, CA, Mar 18, 1970. To a Colonel Taylor on his personal letterhead, he states, “<i>I am happy to send you my enclosed wings from my mess dree</i> [sic] <i>uniform for your display</i> [present].<i>My best to you.</i>..”LeMay adds in a postscript, “<i>I found a pair of my stars, which I am sending also.</i>” [Also included.] Boldly signed. 1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.
5. The Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot for any
reason.
6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
