CURRIER AND IVES LINCOLN POLITICAL CARTOON. Political Lithograph by Currier & Ives, NY, 1860. This cartoon depicts Douglas & Johnson as mules hitched to one side of the Democratic wagon, and Breckenridge & Lane hitched to the other, pulling the Democratic party in opposite directions. Unfortunately, the wagon is on a railroad track, and the Republican train, with Lincoln & Hamlin driving, is about to run over the wagon (which it did). Framed under glass with c. 12 x 17" visible, light toning; not removed from frame for examination.
