Spode has been a English Porcelain Maker since the early 19TH Century. Chinese Export Fitzhugh was made in the late 18th and early 19th century and was made for the English Market. It was made in six different colors. Since it was very popular Spode in the later 20TH Century reproduced this pattern and it was sold in department stores in the USA as well as all over the world. I believe it was discontinued a few years ago. This is a replica of a Chinese Export Blue Fitzhugh Drum Shaped Teapot with double strapped handles and a finial on the cover in the form of a acorn. It measures 6" in height to the top of the finial and 9 1/2" from the handle to the end of the spout. Also included is a covered sugar bowl in the same pattern with two double strapped handles and a same type of finial as the one on the teapot.
