CONN ALTO SAXOPHONE WITH CASE 1950's-1960's
SAXOPHONE: A polished brass Conn Alto Sax with the serial number of 6587 indicates the date of manufacture to be 1910-1912, a Conn Wonder or Wonder Improved model. However, our research indicates otherwise. The saxophone comes with the original case with a metal plate on the outside (1.75'' x 1'') with red lines and the word ''Conn''. The inside of the case in lined in blue and has a red oval topped label (1.5'' x 2'') with three marching band members in gold on a red ground. The sax is engraved ''Conn USA'' with stars and irregular lines, mother of pearl keys with some Bakelite parts. Given the style and the trim work, we estimate the saxophone to have been made in the 1950's-1960's. The lot includes the case, saxophone, neck, mouth pieces (2), reeds, straps, corks and related items. Measures 21.5'' without neck and 25'' with neck attached but excluding the mouthpiece. The condition of the instrument and case indicates minimal use.
