CONFESSIONS OF A NAZI SPY

One Sheet (27" x 41")
Fine- on Linen
Warner Bros., 1939

The item exhibited fold wear, crossfold separations, minor paper loss, chips in the lower left corner and borders, and a tear along the top vertical fold. All these issues have been expertly addressed through professional restoration.

Brilliantly directed by Anatole Litvak and based on a series of articles by FBI agent Leon G. Turrou, "Confessions of a Nazi Spy" tells the story of FBI agent Ed Renard (played by Edward G. Robinson) and his investigations into pre-World War II espionage activities in the United States. The film is notable in many respects. It was the first anti-Nazi film from a major American studio and was banned in many European and Latin American countries. The film also accurately anticipates Germany's attacks on Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Norway.
