<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>Confederate prisoner <b><font size=-1>William M. Pierce</font></b> of James City, VA, is paroled from Point Lookout, MD, and signs Oath of Allegiance to the US. Two partly printed DsS, 1p each, 8vo, Jun 16, 1865. Described beneath his Oath, an addendum is penned indicating Pierce has a “<i>scar of wound in left calf that is near well.</i>..” Both documents are worn and evidence toning; folds; scattered foxing; soiling; occasional tears; and a few tiny holes. Certificate of Release also has irregular tear at top left corner with paper loss and light abrasion at right edge. However, text remains dark and clear. Generally Good/VG.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
