(CONFEDERATE COURT MARTIAL FOR MUTINY AND DUELING)
War-date printed circular of Confederate General Orders No. 139, 6pp. 8vo., Richmond, Oct. 28, 1863 charging that various officers and men were incited to riot in Co. B, 8th Battalion Georgia Volunteers and dueling, in small part: "…in view of the evident want of discipline in this battalion, the President has remitted the sentences of all the parties. Lieut. Brown, Sergt. Underwood, and Privates Wood, Cannon, Garner, Roberts, and Hollis will therefore be released from confinement and returned to duty… Lieut. Rice , 2nd S. C. Volunteers [is] charged with sending and accepting a challenge to fight a duel...". An interesting look at disgruntled Confederate soldiers. Minor spotting, else very good.
