COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS. BRITISH HISTORICAL MEDALS. The Order of Blue and Orange, Gold Medal or Badge, 1727, an octagonal altar, the sides decorated with an orange and inscribed QUA DI NOV (The Fourth Day of November), above, a radiate Garter badge decorated with the Brunswick Horse and inscribed GLO: PRI: AUG: (Glorious First of August), rev circular drum decorated with a rams head, on which stand five upright arrows held together and passing through an Electoral crown, a circular band, inscribed MINOR EST QUI INVIDET (He who is envious is inferior), 50mm x 30mm, 15.60g, integral suspension loop, decorated with a rose (MI 487/25; Woolf 42:1b). An attractive badge, extremely fine with minimal wear to the highest points, very rare.
