CONVERSION UNIT. Cal. 22 LR. S# 532192. Bbl. 6" Kart with recessed crown. Frame made just beyond midpoint of 1918 with Eagle 6 proof and "20" assembler number on left rear of trigger guard. Has US Property mark above serial number on right side of frame; references state this happened about #590000 or earlier (this shows earlier). Frame has Colt "rough finish" of the period with mostly correct parts to include wide spur hammer with small section of checkering on hammer that began mid 1918. Replacement long grooved trigger with overtravel adjustment plus flat coarsely checkered mainspring housing. Frame appears original finish and could be used for a period 45 ACP restoration. Top assembly is Kart 22 Conversion unit (#3909 on slide) fitted with Weaver style base / rib having 2 cross slots near rear for optics mounting. Fitted with Ultra Dot reflex sight in 1" alloy scope rings. Kart Conversion Units are well known for their superior accuracy and quality; designed by Fred Kart and highly sought after. Function and profile are similar to a S&W Model 41. Fully checkered walnut grips with period grips screws. MAGS: 1 modern Colt 10 rd. Conversion Unit magazine having push button base. CONDITION: Kart unit is very good plus with some light areas of thinning finish plus slight high edge wear. Spring plug portion does not engage barrel bushing yet functions fine. Near excellent bore and grips. Frame has original finish with some scattered areas of cleaned light oxidation showing mainly at top of right side. Normal thinning in grip area. Near excellent operable red dot; missing rubber eye cup. (25-3292/NW). MODERN. $750-1,000.
