REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Colt. S# 120361. Bbl. 4 1/2". Model 1877 "Lightning" double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1900. The left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT. D.A. 38", with Colt's 2-line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 3-line patent information, followed by a poorly stamped encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame and loading gate exhibit a case color hardened finish, with the bbl., ejector rod assembly, cyl., and grip straps exhibiting a blue finish. Trigger, frame screws, and rear strap of hammer are nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown hard rubber grips. Half-moon blade front sight with frame V-notch rear sight. Bullseye ejector head. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard / front grip strap, rear grip strap, as well as the cyl. CONDITION: frame and loading gate retain fair amounts of their original case color hardened finish, with areas of wear and fading to gray and brown patinas, as well as some spots of light pitting overall. Blued parts retain large amounts of their original finish, showing wear, thinning, superficial handling marks, as well as spots of light surface oxidation. Grip straps show a mottled brown patina, with light pitting. Very bright bore, exhibiting small scattered spots of moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics in SA and DA. Grips show some smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
