COLOMBO, JOSEPH
(1923 - 1978) American crime boss and head of the the Colombo Family from 1963 until he was shot in the head and critically wounded at a rally for the Italian American Civil Rights League (which he founded) in New York. Colombo's shooting was allegedly ordered by rival boss Joe Gallo. Colombo was paralyzed and died seven years later. An outstanding signed item, a 45 RPM record issued by Colombo's Italian-American Civil Rights League signed in full twice by Colombo on the label on each side of the record. The recording is by soprano Tony Darrow singing the organization's theme song, with a "sing along" version on the other side. Colombo has signed both with a fine-tipped blue ballpoint. No sleeve is present, but the item appears to be entirely playable and displayable.
