COLOMBIA, Cartagena, "imitation cob" 4 reales, "888" date (1814), struck over a previous issue, very rare. Restrepo-119.1; Cal-1029; KM-unl. 6.15 grams. Lightly toned VG with flat areas, off-center strike, old scratches, and holed at top of cross / bottom of pillars, but with important details clear including first 8 of "date" (bold o over o, with bottom o of middle digit also boldly visible, plus bottom curve of final o), "mintmark" L, "assayer" M, and denomination 4, in addition to a full retrograde 4 below cross with full bottom-right lion (quadrants transposed as usual), lightly toned, also with cross from original coin partially visible.
