COIN SILVER: A circa 1830's American Coin* .900 silver water Ewer by William Gale and Joseph Moseley, 1828 - 1833, New York, New York. The ovoid body being hand hammered and having hand railed applied design consisting of scroll floral decoration with a waisted stem above a dome-like pedestal foot. The neck features a short shank with a shaped pour spout partially covered ice control on the pourer. The hinged lid crowned with a simulated sovereigns headpiece, overlaid with floral sways and containing a finely impressed floral and fruit finial. The Ewer is inscribed with the following: ''Presented by the Board of Health of the City of New York TO Julius C. Wright M.D. for profefsional (sic) services gratuitously rendered to the poor of the Second Ward during the prevalence of the Cholera. A.D. 1832.'' The Ewer has been professional restored, cleaned and polished. There are no noticeable dents, scratches. The condition would be deemed very fine. 174.7 Grams or 56.20 Troy oz.
