COIN OPERATED ENGLISH ARCADE CLIMBING FIREMAN .
A classic, circa 1920s English arcade machine with the original intent of two players racing their fireman to the top of their ladder at the third story window. The concept of the machine was the first player to the top would get their coin back, the bell would ring, and the firemen would both descend, ready for another run. Quite a handsome machine encased in an oak cabinet retaining its original finish, fanciful cast iron legs and the facade of a typical English city dwelling, firemen gathered curbside while the right and left firemen would ascend their respective ladders. For all intents and purposes, this is a fully mechanical machine with only electrical components being a bulb inside to illuminate the building facade. Mechanism is basically complete other than the penny back reward for a successful player is no longer present. The machine is in operational condition and other than some possible paint touch up to ladders and/or figures, it appears to be in all original condition. SIZE: 72" h x 17" d x 25" w. CONDITION: As stated above. When looking at front panel, there appears to have been an aged alteration to the location of the left crank/handle for some unknown reason. Rear wooden panel has wood damage and subsequently newer amateur repair made. Locks are replaced. 1-12993
