Snake River District. Incorporated in New York State in 1879, the firm owned 13 claims on the west slope of Glacier Mountain. The properties contained galena and gray copper ore in 3 to 5 feet wide fissure veins in a quartz gangue which were developed by 13 shafts up to 200 feet in depth plus 1,500 feet of drifting. Used steam powered machinery according to Fred Holabird [Holabird, Fred, Western Americana, Auction #9, Volume 2: Colorado, p. 113, 2001]. No. 742 made out to Edward Z. Lawrence by W. S. Nagle (?), Vice President, on June 20th for 100 shares. No secretary signature. Countersigned by the secretary of the Union Trust Company of New York [illegible] Walsh on the same day. Signed by Lawrence and witnesses on the back. Excellent condition.
