An office in Kokomo owned the Little Chicago Group six claims, viz., Little Chicago, Monumental, Scandinavia, Normandy No. I and No. 2, and Emma T, 150 x 1500’ each; situated on the east slope of Sheep Mt., 3/4 mile from Kokomo, Ten Mile District, and patented from 1879 to 1882. Veins all contact from 4 to 6 ft. in thickness, pay streak from 10 to 30,” containing galena in sandstone gangue, milling, when sorted, 30% lead, and 20 oz. silver/ton. Little Chicago developed by a 270' incline, a 1,001’ drift, and other workings, Monumental by a 40’ shaft, Scandinavia by a 2O’ shaft, Normandy No. 1 by a 50’ shaft, No. 2 by an 80’ incline, and Erma T. by a 15’ shaft [Ref: Corregan and Lingane, Colorado Mining Directory, 1883]. Number 151 issued to A. B. [illegible] by Chas. L. Constant, Secretary, and Charles Fiedler on 2 March 1881. On white paper with a black border. Handwritten in pencil on the front “A. R. Clausen (?) . . . instead George Race.” U/C. Yellowing in the folds on the reverse. Some wrinkling. Good condition.
