Lot of 2. 1. The Crown Prince Consolidated Mines Company, Empire. This company operated the Mint and the Crown Prince Mines near Empire. The major production was in gold and silver. The ore is of a pyritic-gold type. In 1935 the gold production was 4,578 oz. and in 1936, 11,571 ounces. The veins are in Boulder Creek granodiorite on the northwest side of a stock of monzonite porphyry. The ore was milled in a 100 ton flotation mill. Later a 100 ton cyanide plant was built near the portal of the main drift and the mine became the largest gold producer in the county [Ref: Lovering and Goddard, “Geology and Ore Deposits of the Front Range, Colorado” USGS Prof. Paper 223, 1950]. No. 3389 issued to Wm. D. Betzler by Thos. Williams, Secretary and M. H. Black, President. Crème paper with brown border. Signed on reverse by Betzler on 23 August 1916. Vignette of miners working underground with a pneumatic drill. Not canceled. The folds are yellowing. Good condition.

2. The Lincoln Mountain Mining, Milling, Tunnel, and Transportation Company, Georgetown Mining District. The Lincoln group of veins is located on the southwest side of Clear Creek between 1000 and 2000 feet below the mouth of Trail Creek. The group consists of the Lincoln, South Lincoln, Josephine, Barber, Elliot veins [Ref: Spur, J. E. and G. H. Garrey, “Economic Geology of Georgetown, Colorado,” USGS Prof. Paper 63, 1908]. No. 32 issued to Miss Julia P. Sevan by M. Jay Spalding, Secretary and Frank A. Maxwell, President on 10 September 1906. It seems there was a revenue stamp on the reverse but all that is left is some adhesive. The upper right corner has some discoloration. The folds are barely visible and the stock is in good shape. U/C. Crème paper with orange border. Vignette of miners working underground, pick axing and shoveling ore into ore carts.
