Lot of 3. 1) Photo measures 7 7/8" x 4 7/8". No matte; however, photo is glued onto black construction paper. A birdseye view of a small section in Denver with various mountains in back. Captions at the bottom, "02002. Mt. Rosalie & Denver From The Brown." According to legends of America website, Colorado's Windsor Hotel would not let Henry C. Brown in because he was dressed as a cowboy, he was then determined to make his own and of course top the Windsor, with an architect Frank E. Edbrooke by his side for the designs. The Brown Palace opened in 1892 and has never closed since. Mt. Rosalie was named after Rosalie Bierstadt, wife of Alfred Bierstadt who was a famous painter of landscapes. Photo was probably taken from the inside of the Brown. "Detroit Photographic Co." is noted at the bottom. Focus is good, medium contrast. 2) Measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/4" mounted on a dark brown matte 8 3/8" x 5 1/8". A large two story home with tall trees surrounding it. Looks like a family is standing outside, 3 little girls, one young boy, an older man and woman. A horse drawn wagon is on the street. To the side, "Excelsior Steam Laundry 1216 to 1222 Arapahoe St Telephone. . ." Photo is in good condition, good focus, medium contrast. Matte has minor scratches and wear along the edges. 3) Measures 7 1/4" x 4 1/4" mounted on a black matte 7 7/8" x 4 7/8". A perspective view of land aligned with trees at the sides and a very large building at the end of the road and a view of mountains in the back. Caption at the bottom, "447 Pikes Peak Ave. Colorado Sprs." Building is unverified. Caption on the matte, "The W.H. Jackson Photo Co." on the reverse, "The Chain & Hardy Co. Art Dealers, Denver Colo." Good focus, medium contrast. Minor foxing in the sky, overall condition is very good.
