c1892 Spectacular original photo of the historic Knights Templar 470.5 troy once engraved silver ingot, presented in 1892 at the 25th Triennial Conclave. This albumen silver photo is incredibly sharp and focused, and very well-preserved. The name G. Martin, photographer, appears in the lower right corner, with the number 40050 in the lower left corner. There is a cotton cloth backing, essentially the `paper`. This photo measures 9.75x8.375. The albumen silver process was invented in 1850, using albumen from egg whites to bind the photographic chemicals (including light-sensitive silver) to a 100% cotton cloth paper. The main scene on the ingot`s engraved front depicts the Mount of the Holy Cross, significant as a Templar emblem, as well as a beautiful peak in the central Colorado Rockies near Leadville. Ironically, HKA sold this actual ingot in their recent Hot August auction, for $100K. HKA#62547
