No. 796 issued to D. L. Webb, Trustee by C. D. Wood, Secretary, and M. J. McNamara, President on 23 May for 10,000 shares. There is an error on the stock. The hand written amount says “ten thousand” but the numeric amount is 1,000. Signed by Webb on reverse with no witness signature nor a date. U/C. Excellent condition. In 1896, the firm owned the “Cactus, Clionian, Little Ella, Minnie and Lee, on Bull hill,” which consisted of “31 acres, patented; north and east of the Victor and Isabella properties” [Ref: White, Cripple Creek Up to Date, p. 12, 1896]. In 1900, the firm still owned all the same properties but the acreage was reported as 26 acres “in the N. W. 1-4 [of] section 21 [Ref: Hills, Official Manual of the Cripple Creek District, p. 65, 1900]. By 1900, Wood had moved up to the vice-presidency, and W. F. Kendrick was the new president, whereas, McNamara was not listed as board member. Rare.
