This company owned, in 1900, The Evening Star, The Baby P., The Bessie C., containing 6.5 acres, in the N.E. one-quarter of Sect. 13 on Mineral HIll; the James River, Old Dominion, 0ld Dominion #2, containing 5.5 acres in the N.W. one-quarter of Sect. 18, on Carbonate Hill; the Liberty, Pactolus, PactoLus #2, 3, 4, and 5, the Midas #2, containing about 20 acres, in the N. one-half of Sect. 18, in Poverty Gulch [Ref: Hills, Fred, The Official Manual Cripple Creek District, Colorado, 1900].



1. The Carrie S. Gold Mining Company, Cripple Creek Mining District. Stock number 234 issued to B. Berbower as Trustee by [illegible] Secretary, and K. R. Babbitt, President on 22 February 1896. Signed by Berbower on reverse and witness S. H. Ziegler and Pape, Kirby, & Co. An ink smudge on the reverse and some foxing spots on front. On white paper with a black border, a griffin holding a globe sits on the company masthead. Good condition.



2. The Carrie S. Gold Mining Company stock number 1539 issued to Wm. Clark on 26 February 1900 by A. C. Nagy as Secretary and J. T. Burkholder as President. On crème paper with a gold border. Vignette of miners working underground over the company masthead. U/C. Excellent condition.
