In 1896 J. M. White reported the Blackstone firm owned the “Jamie placer,” consisting of 15 ½ acres, “on the southeast Bull hill, and the Cog Road, Last Shot, and Peak View, on Cow Mountain,” consisting of 30 acres. The “claims adjoin the Butcher Boy of the Ladessa Gold Mining Company, as shipping proposition” [White, Cripple Creek Up to Date, p. 15, 1896]. Four years later, in 1900, Fred Hills wrote the firm still owned the “Cog Road, the Peak View, and the Last Shot, containing in all 26 acres, in the W. 1-2 of section 11, township 15 south, range 69 west, on Cow Mountain.” The company still owned the “Jamie placer,” which contained 11 ½ acres, “in the N. E. 1-4 [of] section 21, township 15 south, range 69 west, adjoining the S. E. 1-4 of school section 16.” In 1900, all the property was patented. In 1896, all the claims had been applied for but the firm had not received patents yet. Hills said that only enough work had been done on the properties to obtain the patent [Hills, Fred, Official Manual of the Cripple Creek District, p.85, 1900]. No. 29 issued to W. R. Block by E. R. Whitmarsh, Secretary, and H. Hutchinson, President on 27 November for 1,000 shares. U/C. Excellent condition.
