Later ore was processed by the Slide Mill until shut down by the infamous gold mine closing order of F. D. Roosevelt (L-208) in 1942. It was one of the longest lived milling operations in Boulder, County. The Slide Mill is 0.2 mile below Lickskillet Gulch on the south side of Lefthand Canyon, across from the Gale millsite. In 1919 the Slide Co., constructed a 15 stamp mill. George W. Teal, son of George S. Teal, who was in charge of the property during its greatest period, was head of the Slide Syndicate. The grandson, George H. Teal, mining man of the 1930s and I94Os was not connected with the Slide. In the 1930s the mine and mill belonged to the Joe Little family and in the 1980s the Charles Steen family bought the property and constructed a 150 ton mill
