Lot of 3. 1. The Gold Valley Placer Mining Company incorporated in Colorado. No. 645 issued to A. F. Bardwell for 500 shares on May 1, 1895 by Ed. S. Robinson, Secretary, and H. B. Gillespie (?), President. Signed on reverse by Bardwell. He assigned some of his stocks to another party but did not date the transfer. Some staining. U/C. Good condition.

2. The Motto Mining Company incorporated in Colorado. Its motto was “small investments, large returns.” No. 770 is unissued. Great condition.

3. The Jewel Mines and Reduction Company incorporated in Colorado in 1913. An unusually plain certificate. No. 799 issued to J. E. Lane by Secretary W. M. Gue, and President J. B. Conger on April 14, 1914 for 50 shares. Signed and witnessed on reverse as a last will and testament of Lane on December 1, 1921. Has been repaired with tape on the top. Not cancelU/Cndition. There is some confusion whether or not this mine is the same as the Jewell Mining and Reduction Company, which stopped operating in 1910, as both are described as owning the Pandora Mine which was seven miles east of Pitkin, in Gunnison County, which is adjacent to Pitkin. The Pandora was developed by an 1,800’ tunnel and used water power to operate its equipment, according to Fenske.
