Lot of 2. 1. The Little Annie Mining Co. B. Clark Wheeler (1849-1814) grew up in the east, studied law and then followed the Black Hills Gold Rush in 1876. He later joined a group of miners at the infant camp of Aspen and became its original promoter who organized and laid out the town site in 1880. He later served as a lawyer, geologist, and newspaper publisher in Aspen and was elected a U. S. Senator in 1893 as a pro-silver advocate. Accompanying this stock is a certificate of transfer issued on the same date as the stock. No. 1217, issued to W. S. Steele by A. J. Peck, Secretary, and B. Clark Wheeler, President on Feb 26, 1892. Transferred to C. W. Martin and signed by Peck and Steele on reverse on 29 February 1892. White paper with brown border. A few fingerprint smudges on the white border and some slight yellowing. Cancelled on Feb 29, 1892. Good condition.

Rollison, President, on June 15, 1894. Signed on reverse “Estate of Harriett M. Weir (formerly Harriett M. Rose) by John Weir Executor” and endorsed by Edyarb Benning for the Walker Bros. Bankers, no date given. The stock is on crème paper with a brown border. There are two flower vignettes in the upper corners. Vignette of a large mill and mine above the masthead. Some small tears and wrinkles. U/C. Good condition.
