This very rare Art Deco satin and clear Uranium green Depression glass figural powder jar was produced by the Sowerby Glassworks, circa 1930, and named LADYE in their cataogue. She is also known as CLAUDETTE where she is shown and described on pages 40-41 in Whitmyer - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. The lid features an Art Deco flapper wearing a flowing gown and a headband surrounding her head. She is seated clasping her ankles with her legs bent upward at the knees. The base has four oval panels with sailboat scenes. Each panel is separated by double fan designs. Beautifully executed with fine definition to her face, features and figure she measures 7 inches tall. Both the jar and lid are in excellent condition.
