CIVIL WAR WATERCOLOR OF FT. SMITH ARKANSAS, 1861. An intriquing 14.25 x 10" watercolor on paper, titled in the lower right "Fort Smith Arkansas, 1861" and signed "F. Barlow" lower left. A nicely accomplished scene of the barracks atop the bluff of the Red River, with a steamboat -- a snag extractor -- plying the river. Lightly tacked to backing paper, else fine.
