CIVIL WAR-USED SMITH & WESSON NO. 2 ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 32 RF. Blued finish with 6” oct keyhole bbl, German silver half-moon front sight and 2-pc square butt rosewood grips numbered to this revolver. Accompanied by a notarized letter date April 27, 1994 stating that Lee A. Silva had purchased this revolver along with a belt and holster from Roger Cary Rumsey, the great-grandson of Major Henry W. Johnson who fought the entire Civil War from 1861 and was mustered out in 1866. Also accompanies is Major Johnson’s obituary, an undated statement that the revolver was the property of Mr. Rumsey and a hand-written note dated 4/7/94 selling this revolver to Mr. Silva, signed “Rod Rumsey”. SN 5176. CONDITION: Very good. Retains about 90% strong bright original blue mixed with flaked areas of patina and scattered light surface rust. The grip frame is mostly a silver-gray patina. The cylinder retains 85-90% thin original blue. Grips are very fine and retain most of their original varnish with light scratches and handling marks. The bore is bright with moderate pitting. The ejector pin is missing. 4-50074
