CIVIL WAR PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM.
American, 2nd quarter-19th century. A family album that includes CDVs and tintypes of family members, as well as CDVs of Civil War soldiers and officers. Images include two copies of a CDV of an unidentified soldier armed with a revolver, a soldier identified as Henry Augustin of the 51st Illinois, and a CDV of Elmer Ephraim Ellsworth in uniform (Ellsworth organized the Chicago Zouaves, worked for Lincoln in his law office and on his presidential campaign, and was killed in Alexandria, Virginia in May of 1861 for removing a Confederate flag from a tavern roof). Images of officers include Generals Sherman, McClellan, Busteed, Burnside, Meade, and McGinnis, as well as other unidentified officers (mostly generals). Also included is a CDV of President Lincoln. Includes 19 total Civil War images (three are of the same officer and two are of the same soldier).





Condition: Album's front hinge is going, some water damage.
