STATE OF TEXAS BUTTON. A very fine excavated example of a locally produced Confederate button for the State of Texas. Although unmarked, this button is likely a product of C. Rouyer of New Orleans. Albert # TX-24-A. Face depicts a central beveled star with "T E X A S . " around the border. The reverse has a blank depressed channel. Full straight shank. CONDITION: button has a dark excavated patina with slight traces of original gilding in protected areas. (02-17700/BF). $1,600-2,000.
