1) CAVALRY SABER. A very good example35 3 of a Civil War era imported M1840 style enlisted cavalry saber measuring 43 1/2" overall with a 35 3/8" plain blade. The blade has no maker's marks and shows a single wide fuller and a secondary fuller near the spine. Standard 2 branch brass hilt with a wire wrapped leather grip and iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a pleasing light gray patina. Hilt shows light wear and scabbard has a lightly mottled gray patina. 2) PRUSSIAN SWORD. A good example of an Imperial German officer's sword from Prussia measuring 37 3/4" overall with a 31 3/4" double fullered blade marked " (king's head)(knight's head) W. K. & C ". Gilded brass hilt with folding Prussian eagle guard. Single branch guard with a canted pommel. Wire wrapped composite grip with a crowned cipher on one side. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. Hilt shows light wear overall with noticeable loss of gilding. (02-24442-2/BF). $400-600.
