CIVIL WAR GEM NH TINTYPE ALBUM. Fine gem album in embossed red calf containing a total of 114 gem-sized tintypes, including the image of a Civil War private identified by the consignor as "Josiah" Batchelder of the 11th New Hampshire. A search of the New Hampshire records found two Josiah's neither of whom served in the 11th. Possibly Johnathan, a private in Co. B, and perhaps this is he. Album and images fine.
