<B>CITRINE "FLOWER" GEODE</B></I><BR> <I>Serra Geral Formation, Ametista do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, South Region, Brazil</B></I><BR>This unusual citrine geode opens up like a trumpet flower, instead of the more commonly seen narrow tunnel or cathedral shape. Citrine geodes from Brazil are heat treated amethyst geodes. The high temperatures of the treatment process can cause the geodes to crack and break, so only a small percentage of the citrine geodes survive intact such as did this one. The gemmy golden-yellow citrine cavity is fully exposed and can be viewed from all angles.
