A very nice, unmarked silver-mounted cigarette & match safe cane with a 4.25 " long tau-shaped horn handle. Thetop of the stick has hinged silver lid that opens to reveal a compartment for a cigarette. The inside of the lid isroughened for striking matches; the case interior is gilt washed. The end of the horn handle has a second silverlidded compartment for matches, also with a gilt washed interior. The front end of tau handle also has silver cap,and a silver 1" collar at mount of handle to stepped bamboo tapered shaft with .75" brass ferrule. Total length37.5".Crack in horn and minor scratches on silver, nice old dark patina to shaft.(EST 700-900)
